Jan 10 - That was the Noughties |
|
We can't deny that 2009 was something of a rollercoaster in art terms and WorkArt is a slightly changed animal as a result. We've outsourced our logistics and streamlined in some other areas too. Candidly, some of our clients have taken a different path concerning their office imagery over the last few months - whilst a core have continued to fly the banner proudly for great, original art, and keeping it local too! It's interesting to note that the organisations that have continued to support our objectives appear to have ridden the storm well in other areas too.
Perhaps this is a confidence thing - if you look good then it helps you feel good about yourself too. Worth more than a passing thought wouldn't you think?
The key is that we find art that suits our clients and, whether you want it for a few weeks, months or even years, we will get it for you - all the way from the studio to your office wall. It's hassle-free and you'll love the difference it makes.

May 09 - Art and Soul of Development |
Quorum Development Partners have used WorkArt to help with their launch of the latest site to come on-stream at the Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. It's well known in the property world that art can make the difference between a good development and a great development.
The Quorum site, already home to some major blue-chip players, features some superb public art sculptures and WorkArt were delighted to become involved in adding some soul to the interior of this new development. Until companies actually occupy a new site they can be very sterile environments; art adds the element that appeals on an emotional level.
We wish Quorum every success with their new development.

Apr 09 - New Moves at Fergusons Transport |
|
WorkArt has just completed a 5 month project with Fergusons Transport Ltd that has resulted in a fascinating journey back through time.
Completion of Fergusons latest storage facility in Cramlington has been combined with a move of the Group's headquarters to offices co-located at the same site. As a family run organisation success over three generations is a real achievement and, in partnership with WorkArt, they came up with a brilliant way to highlight this journey. Old family archives were investigated, staff members with a long history in the company and even longer memories were consulted, and a captioned photographic history assembled. And this is in place in corridors and stairways in the new development.
The photographs, naturally, have attracted a great deal of attention and chart some the company's highlights and the individuals along the way who have made it all happen. It also helps embed the notion of family values and quality. The really clever bit has been to combine the old with the new and this archival material shares a place with some stunning contemporary artwork. The juxtaposition of new with old works really well and helps Fergusons to show themselves as an innovative, imaginative and confident organisation - but one with its feet firmly on the ground; a large operation that keeps in touch with its roots. |

Feb 09 - Kilfrost Move into Town |
Kilfrost Ltd, manufacturers of de-icing products for the aviation industry, have opened their new Head Office in the Time Central building, Newcastle upon Tyne. This state of the art development provides the firm with exceptional facilities, essential when hosting visiting delegations from their overseas customer base.
With a track record of excellence WorkArt was the natural choice to advise on suitable art for their boardroom. From a short list of 4 regionally based artists Andrea Toth was selected and her paintings installed. Her artwork looks superb in place and perfectly compliments the Kilfrost image.

Dec 08 - Gateshead Restaurant Makeover |
Just in time for the Christmas festivities a makeover project of the restaurant area in Gateshead Civic Centre was completed. For the finishing touches the council commissioned a series of glass photographic panels from artist Corinne Lewis. Her work was based on photographs of plants and flowers taken in nearby Saltwell Park earlier in the year. The translucent panels, fitted using standoffs, allow light to be reflected from the wall back through the panel. They create a wonderfully warm feel, look superb and really help set the tone in this area.
WorkArt was tasked to install the 8 panels. The artist's view on our work was... "I was so impressed at the amazing rate that you put the work up and with very little drama, I have seen technicians reduced almost to tears by the glass pieces. So thank you so much for all of your hard work."
The panels can be viewed in the restaurant area, open to the public.
