Art can have a powerful and dramatic effect at the corporate level, just as easily as it can at the individual level; the examples below show how a cross section of our clients have used art to add value at work.
Case Study One - Brewin Dolphin
When investment managers Brewin Dolphin moved into new accommodation in Time Central, Newcastle upon Tyne, expectations were rightly very high for the new office, representing a confident step forward. The new site provides their 300 staff with state of the art facilities and includes conference rooms and eight client meeting rooms. Brewin Dolphin knew already that contemporary art would add the all-important finishing touches; they also wanted to support the regional creative scene, have access to a wide range of different material and with the ability to change things periodically.
Sourcing their art through WorkArt has allowed all this to happen and the offices look immaculate.
Case Study Two - Gateshead Council
As one of the highest rated local authorities in England and Wales Gateshead Council has a reputation for doing things well. In particular they are very conscious of the important contribution made by the creative and cultural sector - as the development of the Sage Gateshead, Baltic, the Millennium Bridge and Angel of the North can all testify. In other words art matters to Gateshead and they make sure they get it right. WorkArt is privileged to be appointed to work with the Council as part of it's strategy to improve workspaces. We re-organised and catalogued the Council's own art collection - over 150 paintings, artist prints, drawings and photographs - arranged refurbishment where required and then displayed the collection throughout the Civic Centre.
The initiative has been hugely popular with the Council staff and has received a great deal of very favourable comment
Case Study Three - PWM
When Professional Wealth Management (PWM) decided they needed more space they made a bold step - opting to purchase and then refurbish a large town house in Jesmond. Having gone to considerable lengths already to ensure the offices would work well for the business they weren't going to leave the art to chance. WorkArt introduced the artwork of several different artists before a selection was made. Peter Podmore's pastel scenes of Northumbrian landscapes were perfect for PWM's first rotation and has set the standard for what will follow. The art fits well in the workplace and helps visibly support the approach PWM adopt themselves when dealing with their own discerning clients.
Case Study Four - North East Investment Centre
The reorganisation of BusinessLink North East saw the establishment of the North East Investment Centre at the Spectrum Business Park in Seaham. The new organisation needed some suitable artwork for their Board Room on a short term basis, until some of their own material became available.
WorkArt supplied three large paintings, again by Peter Podmore, which were installed in time for the first Board meeting in the new site.
